Spiritans build mosques in the Philippines

GEDSC DIGITAL CAMERAAfter the heavy Flood that caused life and properties in the Philippines last December, the Spiritans have been working very hard to provide shelter for the victims. Led by Fr. Adam Bago, CSSp,  the parish priest of our lady of fatima Parish Digkilaan, Iligan city, the Spiritans have provided shelter to more than 300 hundred families.

After providing shelter for these communities, it is also important to take care of their spiritual needs. In the words of Fr. Adam, a holistic response to this people should also care about their faith, either as muslims, Christians or “Natives”.  As spiritans, our mission moves us to compassion and love for all people. As part of our mission for inter religious dialogue, we are reaching out to our muslim brothers and sisters.

Assisted by friends and partners, Fr. Adam has built mosques for  Malaigang, Panorogangan and Rogongon area of Digkilaan Parish, Iligan city. This is a new step to promoting peace among Christians and Muslims in this very religiously fragile community.
